What can be funded?

The fund rules give full details but, roughly, CCBF

  • can fund projects that benefit the wider community
  • looks mainly in the area of the five communities mentioned above
  • favours projects seen as priorities from the 2020 consultation, available on the DECBG website, or this link

Things CCBF can not do, normally, are

  • fund religious or political projects
  • fund projects that only benefit an individual - apart from education and training bursaries
  • fund projects that are a statutory duty (pothole repairs to name but one!)

Community Council Small Grants Scheme

The five Community Councils have annual amounts of £5,000 each to administer and distribute through a small grants scheme.

These can be grants of up to £500 to non-constituted groups for ‘charitable purposes' in line with the aims or purposes of the main fund; or grants of up to £2,000 to constituted groups.

Guidance about the scheme can be found here.

An application form can be found here or by contacting your local Community Council directly.

Education and Training Bursary Scheme

The aim of the Crossdykes Education and Training Bursary Scheme is to improve the opportunities and livelihoods of people living in the five communities.  It will provide bursaries to access training and education opportunities that better equip them with the range of skills required to enter or retain employment.

The five Community Councils have annual amounts of £2,000 each to administer and distribute as bursaries.

Guidance about the scheme can be found here.

An application form can be found here or by contacting your local Community Council directly.
